Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. Her range of her earlier music has been described as "lo fi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". The artist has incorporated elements from hip hop electronic music, as well as rock. Many of her lyrics are based on science-fiction themes and feminist themes. The singer has released five studio albums. Born and raised in Vancouver (later relocated in Montreal), Grimes began releasing music independently at the end of the 2000s with two albums released, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa which were released in 2010, via Arbutus Records. Following her the signing of 4AD her popularity grew with fame by releasing Visions which was her third album on the studio. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, was released in the year 2015. Several publications called it the top album. In 2020, she debuted Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes as well as an actor as well as a judge for Alter Ego's competitions for music, played a part as a vocalist as part of Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in 2020.
